A Telecare alarm can be an important, life-saving piece of equipment for the elderly and disabled. Choosing an alarm is often a difficult decision based on the many Telecare choices that exist. We have simplified this by explaining your options below.
Why Choose Telecare Choice?
With so many Telecare choices to pick from, we make it simple to choose the best provider for you. We at Telecare Choice are committed to providing you with the highest quality of Telecare service before, during, and after the alarm is installed in your home. It is important to our values that Telecare is accessible to all who may need it. We provide alarms across the whole of the UK, and in most cases can have an alarm delivered and installed within 24 hours. We also strive to keep our prices affordable for even those on a low income.
We also realise the importance of time. In many situations, getting Telecare installed in your home quickly is crucial so our Telecare alarms can be ready to use the day after ordering. Our fast alarm call response times have also enabled our monitoring centre to receive Accreditation from the TEC Services Association.
Telecare Choices: Which Plan is Best for Me?
As the supplier of Telecare alarms for the elderly and disabled, we keep our price plans as transparent as possible. There are no hidden costs and we are clear about how and when you pay.
Our price choices are simple. You choose to pay monthly or annually depending on which best suits your budget and plan.
Our Telecare Alarm Annual Package* is £124 and is the best value package that we offer. Paying yearly means that you save £30 on the annual cost of the Telecare system.
The Telecare Alarm Monthly Package* is £12 a month. There is a three month initial term that is payable when you order your Telecare system and after this the £12 monthly rental is collected by a Direct Debit.
Both packages include a Telecare alarm unit which plugs into your telephone point, a MyAmie pendant button to be worn around the wrist or neck, and 24/7 monitoring. A £39 Setup Fee also applies to all Telecare alarms.
Telecare Choice Alarms
We offer a range of alarms to help keep you safe at home. When considering your Telecare choices, it is important to be mindful of what you need from an alarm.
Our Telecare Alarm package includes the base unit and pendant. It also requires a phoneline to operate. If you do not have a phoneline, we also offer the GSM Alarm.
The GSM Alarm uses a roaming mobile phone signal to send an alert to our monitoring centre. This means it only requires a mains power supply to work. The GSM Alarm costs £124 a year or £27 per month.
For added peace of mind, we also offer a Telecare Everywhere GPS Alarm. This alarm does not require a phoneline or mains power, and can be used outside of the home. You wear it as a pendant alarm. It even contains a built-in loudspeaker so our team can speak with you when it is activated. The Telecare Everywhere Alarm costs £305 per year or £32 per month.
Remember that all alarm plans are subject to a £39 Setup Fee. Furthermore, when you choose a monthly plan you will be paying for the first three months upfront.
What else can I do to feel safe?
Once you’ve decided which Telecare alarm to go with, there are a few further Telecare choices that you can make. Our Telecare alarm packages are designed to enable you to remain independent in your own home, and the following options are great accompaniments to make you feel even safer.
Fall Detection
All Telecare Choice alarm plans can be upgraded to include fall detection. With fall detection, your alarm will send an automatic alert to our monitoring team if it senses a fall. It does this using an innovative algorithm that measures altitude and speed. A sudden drop, as would be associated with a fall, triggers an alert.
An additional fee applies to the fall detector upgrade.
A Spare MyAmie Pendant
Your annual or monthly package includes one MyAmie pendant for you to wear around your wrist or neck. You can also opt to purchase a second pendant.
A second pendant is perfect for two people living together so that both people have a pendant should they need assistance. Alternatively, you can keep your second pendant as a spare in case you misplace yours. This costs just £48* per year and includes monitoring.
Keysafes
We recommend purchasing a keysafe as part of your Telecare alarm package. A keysafe is a small metal box, which contains your spare keys, and is fixed onto the outside of your property. The keysafe is programmed with a passcode (chosen by you) and when this passcode is entered, the box opens allowing access to the keys inside. These can include front door keys, back door keys, and garage keys. Keysafes are ideal alongside a Telecare alarm as, in an urgent situation, our monitoring centre staff will be able to pass on your keysafe code to the emergency services so that they can access the property without causing any damage. They can also be used by carers and family members so that they can access your property without disturbing you.
Our recommended keysafe is the Burton Keyguard XL. It is a high security, push button keysafe, and is police approved under the Secured by Design scheme. Furthermore, it has been independently security tested and certified to Sold Secure Bronze standards.
Smoke Detector
The Telecare Smoke Detector acts as a normal high quality smoke alarm in your home with the added benefit of being connected to your Telecare alarm and alerting our monitoring centre in the event of a fire. This product is £44* per year and acts as added protection against domestic fires.
