The Piper Alarm from Telecare Choice
Piper Alarms have been designed to protect and assist the elderly, frail and disabled across the UK - especially those who live alone. Our alarm also help those who suffer with long-term health problems.
A Piper Alarm can be the difference between an elderly moving into care, or remaining in hospital longer than necessary, and staying in the comforts of their own home.
Our system provides the elderly with somebody to call for help if they fell unwell or suffer a fall in their home. The Piper Alarm connects our users to the 24/7 monitoring centre. Once push of a button will alert our highly-trained team, and help will be sent to their home.
All of our alarms come with free next day delivery and can be installed quickly by the alarm user or a relative/friend.
The Piper Alarm System
Base Unit - Communication
The Piper Alarm base unit acts as a communication device for the alarm user and the monitoring centre. In an emergency, the monitoring team will speak to the alarm user through a loudspeaker. The alarm user can they respond through the built-in microphone system.
The base unit can be installed within minutes. It's plugged into the mains power and telephone socket, with the telephone plugging into the back of the box using the adaptor provided.
It also has a 40-hour support battery which will turn on during a power cut. Once power is restored, it will begin to recharge itself.
Pendant Button - A Call for Help
Alongside the base unit, Piper Alarm users also receive their very own pendant button. This device can be worn multiple ways; around the wrist or neck, and as a belt clip.
It's waterproof, so can be used in the bath and shower, and has a range of up to 100 metres.
In an emergency, the alarm user simply needs to press the red pendant button. An alert call is made to the monitoring centre and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
Monitoring Centre - Ready to Help
Alongside the Piper Alarm hardware, another important part of the life-saving service is the monitoring centre. This team of highly-trained people look after all of our alarm users.
They work 365 days a year and are available throughout the day and through the night. They're trained how to deal with a number of emergency situations and will try their best to reassure the alarm user during an alarm call.
When an alert call is made, a member of the team will speak with the alarm user over the loudspeaker. The situation will be assessed, and the team member will take action. They will call for the alarm user's emergency contacts (family, friends & neighbours) and the emergency services if the alarm user requires medical attention.
Annie, Sunderland
I felt so much better coming out of hospital to a Telecare button. I'd had my knee replaced and was vulnerable to falls. It made me feel safer.
Dan, Cardiff
We've found that the alarm hasn't just benefited Mum's life but ours as well. We worry less knowing she can let people know if there's a problem.

For patients at high risk of falls, living independently at home can be a real struggle. Telecare alarms help give them that extra confidence by making sure help is always readily available.
Pricing Plans
Telecare Choice offer two simple price plans to ensure that you can get your personal alarm up and running as soon as possible.
Of course, both of our price plans come with free 24-hour delivery so that you can have your new alarm and pendant installed sooner, rather than later.
Once installed the alarm user will be covered by our 24-hour Monitoring Team. Should they need help, day or night, all they need to do is simply push the Telecare pendant and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
The Monitoring Team will then take appropriate action to ensure the user gets help - whether this is contacting a relative or the emergency services. Ensure help can gain access to the property with a Keysafe.
