Onyx Pendants

Introducing: The Onyx Jewelry Pendant

Posted on 6th July 2016

Meet the world’s best looking personal alarm: the Onyx Jewelry Pendant.

This jewel pendant is stylish and discreet and comes with an attractive chrome 21″ snake chain with magnetic clasp. The onyx pendant is an alternative to the standard red and white button.

The stylish pendant

You asked and we responded! Many of our customers wanted to feel safer in their own homes but didn’t feel comfortable with existing alarm pendants on the market. They wanted a more stylish, sleeker version. Enter the Onyx jewelry pendant. The pendant takes its name from the precious black stone, Onyx, because of their similar sleek appearances. The Onyx pendant could simply be mistaken for a piece of beautiful jewelry when in fact it is a lifesaving pendant that can deliver help with a press of a button.

Tell me more…

The Onyx jewelry pendant isn’t just a pretty face. It has various attributes that make the Onyx a great choice when choosing a Telecare pendant.

Stylish

The Onyx pendant has been designed with style in mind. The pendant’s elegant design and sleek shape conceals vulnerability in the alarm user – as well as complementing any outfit!

The pendant also comes with an attractive 21″ chrome snake chain. The necklace has a magnentic clasp which means that users can easily put on and remove their personal alarm.

Compatible

Designed to be flexible, the Onyx jewelry pendant is compatible with existing Telecare technology. This is great news if you are an existing Telecare user as an Onyx pendant will be ready to use with your existing alarm unit. The pendant also has a fantastic 3-5 year battery life. We will receive notification when your Onyx pendant is running low on battery and we will get a new one sent to you straightaway.

Lightweight

This means that the Onyx is comfortable to wear. In fact, it is so lightweight that you will forget that you are even wearing it – until you need to use it, that is!

Waterproof

We know that most falls and accidents take place in the bathroom. For this reason, the Onyx pendant is waterproof so that our alarm users can wear their pendants in the shower in the knowledge that they can receive help at the press of a button.

How does the onyx jewelry pendant work?

The Onyx jewelry pendant works in the same way that our standard pendant works. If the alarm user requires assistance, they can press their Onyx pendant which sends a call directly to our 24/7 monitoring centre. Our team will then speak to the alarm user over their Telecare alarm unit.

This unit is a discreet box that is plugged into the telephone line. It has a loudspeaker system that allows the alarm user to communicate their problem to our monitoring centre. We will then take action by contacting a nominated contact and alerting them to the alarm user’s problem. This is usually a friend, family member or neighbour that live close by.  Alternatively in a medical emergency, we will also contact 999 and pass on the alarm user’s medical details so that the paramedics arrive ready to treat the patient.

How do I get one?

If you are an existing Telecare alarm user, simply call us on 0800 635 7000 and we will upgrade your current pendant to an Onyx.

You can also order your Telecare alarm online and select the ‘Onyx Jewelry Pendant’ option when you reach your basket. Alternatively, call us on 0800 635 7000 and one of our team will be happy to assist you through the ordering process.

The fall alarm sensors and detectors on all devices use an algorithm to recognise the difference between ‘hard’ falls and other movements. They cannot guarantee to detect all falls because it is dependent on where and how it is worn and if it can detect the fall. For this reason if you have had a fall or need assistance you should press your emergency pendant or alarm box if you are able.
