The GSM Alarm System protects the elderly by using the strongest mobile phone network in the local area. This means that people who don't have a landline telephone connection can still enjoy the comfort and security that a Telecare system brings.
The device will search for the strongest signal from a range of providers and connect to the number one network. All of our GSM Alarms are dispatched with the sim card already fully installed. All the alarm user needs to do is to plug the device into the mains power in their home. There is no need to worry about any additional costs or unexpected bills either, all calls to our monitoring centre are included within the original price of the GSM Alarm.
All the alarm user needs to do if they require assistance is to press the red help button, either on their GSM Alarm or on their pendant button. Our 24-Hour Monitoring Centre will then respond and send help - in the form of friends/family and the emergency services.
Installing the GSM Alarm
The GSM Alarm uses a SIM Card. Please allow five minutes for the sim card to search for the network with the best coverage.
Testing the GSM Alarm System
The testing of the GSM Alarm System is very similar to our standard Telecare Alarm. Simply push the red button on the alarm unit, or on the pendant button, and the monitoring team will respond via the loudspeaker.
The team will ensure that everything has been set-up correctly and that the signal is strong. They will also check the alarm user's account to ensure that they are happy with everything.
We advise that GSM Alarm users test the signal of their alarm regularly during the first week of use. To do so, simply turn the alarm unit over to access the keypad on the back. Enter P * 8 0 2 P and the unit will announce the signal strength.
The LED on the alarm will also show you whether the signal strength is good or not; with a red light for a poor strength of 7 or lower, amber light for good signal strength between 7-18, and green for a strong signal score of 19 and over.
If the signal fluctuates in an area of the home, try moving it to a different location.
The Pendant Button
All GSM Alarm users will receive the discreet pendant button, which can be worn around the wrist or neck. It all depends on the user's preference, with both attachments included inside the box.
The pendant has been designed with comfort in mind; it's lightweight stylish, and can be easily hidden under a sleeve or down the user's top.
It's also waterproof, which allows the GSM Alarm user to call for help if they slip or fall whilst in the bath or shower. As we know, conditions in the bathroom increase the chances of an accident.
The pendant button will connect to the alarm unit throughout the home and outside in the garden - up to a range of 100 metres.
If the alarm user requires help, all they need to do is to press the red button on the pendant.

Of course, both of our price plans come with free 24-hour delivery so that you can have your new alarm and pendant installed sooner, rather than later.
Once installed the alarm user will be covered by our 24-hour Monitoring Team. Should they need help, day or night, all they need to do is simply push the Telecare pendant and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
The Monitoring Team will then take appropriate action to ensure the user gets help - whether this is contacting a relative or the emergency services. Ensure help can gain access to the property with a Keysafe.
