Telecare's Emergency Pendant
Our emergency pendant protects the elderly and disabled across the United Kingdom. By having an emergency pendant around their neck or wrist, they are choosing independence over care homes and hospital beds.
As we're a private company, we're not connect to any local governments which means that we're affordable! We offer all of our customers two price packages, as we understand that people like to manage their finances in different ways.
We also understand that some modern technology can be intimidating for the elderly, which is why our equipment is easy to install and simple to use. This page will explain how our service works and looks at the equipment that our alarm users have.
Emergency Pendant and Alarm Base Unit
Emergency Pendant
Multiple Wearing Options - The emergency pendant, known officially as the MyAmie Pendant, can be worn multiple ways. The wearer can choose to wear their pendant around their neck, wrist or on their belt.
Waterproof - Our emergency pendant is waterproof. This means that our alarm users can keep it on in the bath and shower - common places to suffer a fall.
No Charging - A battery life of seven years means that our alarm users don't have to worry about charging their pendant. A free replacement will be sent once it begins to run low.
Comfort - The pendant has been designed to be as comfortable and discreet as possible. Its stylish, small design means that most of our customers don't even take it off when they leave their home.
Alarm Base Unit
Easy Installation - The base unit which comes alongside the emergency pendant can be installed within minutes. Simply plug the unit into the telephone socket and the mains power, connect the telephone into the back and press red to complete a test call.
Easy Communication - The base unit has a built-in microphone and a loudspeaker system. This allows for clear and crisp communication between alarm user and monitoring centre.
Back-up Battery - The alarm has a 40-hour, rechargable back-up battery which will boot-up during a power cut. Once power is restored, it will return to its recharging status.
Phone Use - Incoming phone calls can be answered by pressing the emergency pendant and speaking to the caller over the unit's loudspeaker.
How does the Emergency Pendant Work?
If the alarm user feels unwell or has a fall at home, or outside in the garden, they need to press the red button on their emergency pendant. This will send an automatic alert call through to our monitoring centre.
Our team are highly-trained individuals who work 24-hours-a-day, all year round to ensure that our alarm users can always find help.
Once an alert call has been received, a member of the monitoring team will respond over the base unit loudspeaker. The situation is assessed, and the monitoring team member will arrange for help to come to the alarm user.
This commonly involved calling for friends, family or neighbours (emergency contacts), and the emergency services if they are needed.
Annie, Sunderland
I felt so much better coming out of hospital to a Telecare button. I'd had my knee replaced and was vulnerable to falls. It made me feel safer.
Dan, Cardiff
We've found that the alarm hasn't just benefited Mum's life but ours as well. We worry less knowing she can let people know if there's a problem.
Robert, Nottingham
The alarm has made a huge difference to Mum’s confidence and it definitely brings me a lot of comfort.
Dr. Spratt, Worcestershire
For patients at high risk of falls, living independently at home can be a real struggle. Telecare alarms help give them that extra confidence by making sure help is always readily available.
Pricing Plans
Telecare Choice offer two simple price plans to ensure that you can get your personal alarm up and running as soon as possible.
Of course, both of our price plans come with free 24-hour delivery so that you can have your new alarm and pendant installed sooner, rather than later.
Once installed the alarm user will be covered by our 24-hour Monitoring Team. Should they need help, day or night, all they need to do is simply push the Telecare pendant and a member of the team will respond within seconds.
The Monitoring Team will then take appropriate action to ensure the user gets help - whether this is contacting a relative or the emergency services. Ensure help can gain access to the property with a Keysafe.
